What are the government measures to reduce greenhouse gases? In 2002 President Bush actually began taking some steps towards the goal of reducing the greenhouse gases by 18%, these things take time. The hope was to meet this goal by the year 2012 and so far we are right on track to meet this goal. But it's not enough, which is why there are additional measures that are being put into action and the new goal is to reduce these greenhouse gas emissions to 80 percent by the year 2050.
The government measures to reduce greenhouse gases was issued by a group called G-8. The goal to reduce these emissions is a great one, and this is not going to come with some sacrifices in many areas. Let's face it everything that we do, from building cars to driving them on a daily basis creates greenhouse gases. They have yet to state how this goal is going to be met and what sacrifices will need to be made, but if you are anything like me you are probably saying it's about time.
The effects of the global warming are taking a toll on many things in our lives already. There are many things that are changing, and it is hitting many area's around the world worse than others. Small islands are experiencing higher water levels all around them, and others are getting stretches of heat waves. All of this affects us in various ways. Heat waves create an increasing amount of deaths due to heat stroke, hotter weather is a breeding ground for many diseases and the list can go on and on. The government measure to reduce greenhouse gases isn't really going to change this for us now, unfortunately.
These government measures to reduce greenhouse gases is geared more towards the future of the earth in the hopes that it will control the global warming better. These gases are increasing the rate at which the earth heats up, and this is only going to increase if nothing is done. We are all going to be required to do our part in helping to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide that we add to the atmosphere. There are a ton of different things that can be done, just take a minute or two and you can find a list. When you are reading through this list you will see that the small things are a big help.
